Earth now felt eerily quiet.

The participants of the Tournament of Power had already departed for the realm of the Gods of Destruction, preparing to fight for the future of Universe 7.

Only a handful of veteran Z Warriors remained on Earth:

Piccolo, Krillin, Yamcha, Tien Shinhan, and Chiaotzu. Time had passed, and their strength now paled in comparison to that of the Saiyans, seeming almost insignificant.

Although Piccolo, a Namekian, possessed formidable power, it was still not enough.

Although he was considered the strongest among these Z Warriors, this so-called “strength” proved meaningless against truly overwhelming foes.

On a frigid, snow-covered plain, icy mist swirled around a towering, cloud-piercing iceberg.

The colossal iceberg radiated a suffocating chill. In this silent, desolate landscape, Piccolo stood motionless atop the peak, gazing into the distance.

Suddenly, Piccolo closed his eyes, held his breath, and focused his mind. In his mind’s eye, he saw the scene of his first clash with Son Goku at the World Martial Arts Tournament.

Back then, both fighters had given their all, refusing to yield an inch. In the end, Piccolo had successfully beaten Son Goku into a near-death state.

At that time, they were sworn enemies, locked in a battle to the death.

But everything changed when Raditz arrived on Earth.

They ceased to be enemies and became allies, working together to defeat Raditz.

Then came Vegeta’s invasion of Earth. As Piccolo recalled these events, these memories flooded Piccolo’s mind like a tidal wave.

Every detail was vivid, and it felt as if it were happening right before his eyes.

Now, Earth was facing a life-or-death crisis, and even Universe 7 was teetering on the brink.

And he could do nothing; he is powerless and unable to contribute in any meaningful way.

In that moment, Piccolo realized that the gap between him and Son Goku had become vast beyond measure.

“Son Goku,” Piccolo murmured to himself, his voice heavy with resignation and despair, “Earth’s future rests in your hands now.”

But just as his thoughts began to wander, an overwhelmingly malevolent aura pierced his mind from a distance light-years away.

This aura carried boundless malice and an overwhelming force that instantly put Piccolo on high alert.

He suddenly opened his eyes, a flash of shock crossing them.

‘Who is this guy? How can he possess such an overwhelming aura?’ Piccolo wondered inwardly.

The malevolent aura intensified rapidly, and Piccolo could sense it approaching Earth with terrifying speed, signaling an even greater threat.

Gritting his teeth, Piccolo cursed under his breath, “Damn it! Why now of all times?!”

He knew Earth was currently defenseless, lacking any major combat power. Yet this mysterious enemy had chosen this precise moment to strike, which was a truly despicable and infuriating act.

At the same time, Yamcha, who had been flirting with women, also looked up at the sky.

His forehead was drenched in sweat, and his entire body was frozen in place as if he were rooted to the ground.

Despite the seductive advances of the beautiful woman beside him, Yamcha remained completely unresponsive.

His heart pounded with fear and unease, as if sensing an impending catastrophe of immense proportions.

Likewise, Krillin, who was out on a mission, began to feel anxious.

He knew there weren’t any Saiyans on Earth, so the planet was at its most vulnerable point.

Inside Tien Shinhan’s dojo, Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu were also on full alert.

They had sensed an evil presence approaching and realized that Earth was facing an imminent crisis.

“It seems we must prepare to face this unknown enemy,” Tien Shinhan said gravely.

“Yes, we must protect Earth at all costs!” Chiaotzu clenched his fist, his voice firm with determination.

With that, the two warriors soared into the sky, heading towards the distant horizon.

……

The Lookout.

Mr. Popo was beside himself with worry, having sensed the malevolent aura drawing ever closer to Earth.

Paragus, standing beside him, looked at Mr. Popo with a puzzled expression on his face. Just as he was about to ask a question, Dende spoke up.

“Mr. Popo… Earth’s chances look grim this time.”

“Earth is at its weakest right now. If Mr. Goku and the others are truly undergoing intensive training in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber…”

“It’s likely that whatever happens on Earth, they won’t know anything about it.”

Dende’s eyes glazed over with confusion. The crisis had erupted so suddenly that he didn’t know what to do.

Mr. Popo clenched his fists and shook his head violently. Once again, Earth was on the brink of utter annihilation.

And now, Vegeta, the one who had once saved Earth, was no longer on the planet.

Dende’s analysis was spot-on. Even disregarding the vast distance between the God of Destruction’s realm and Earth, the Hyperbolic Time Chamber’s isolation made it impossible for anyone inside to sense external events.

Even if Earth were to explode, it wouldn’t be detected.

Just as Mr. Popo and Dende were at a loss, an aged voice suddenly entered their minds.

[Do not panic, Mr. Popo and Dende. Immediately notify the warriors who once protected Earth.]

The speaker was none other than the old Kami, who had once fused with Dende.

Upon hearing this voice, Mr. Popo’s eyes welled up with tears.
“Old Kami-Sama…”

[Yes, Mr. Popo, it’s me.]

[Dende, follow my instructions immediately. Also, summon Piccolo to the Lookout.]

[Now, saving Earth depends entirely on us.]

Dende had countless questions, but he could only follow the instructions at this moment. After all, these were the words of the reliable old Kami.

Soon, Dende began contacting Krillin, Yamcha, Tien Shinhan, and Chiaotzu.

Truthfully, he didn’t even need to reach out; Krillin and the others had already sensed it themselves.

Ultimately, Dende connected with Piccolo via telepathy.

“Uncle Piccolo! Please come to the Lookout immediately! Old Kami-sama said that this is the only way to save Earth!”

Piccolo’s body stiffened. He suddenly recalled what Old Kami had told him not long ago about merging into one being. With Earth facing a survival crisis, Piccolo was no longer so resistant to merging again.

After all, he lost his position as Earth’s main fighting force many years ago. If reuniting could rapidly increase his strength, that would be the best possible outcome.

“Goku, this time it’s my turn to protect Earth. You just focus on your tournament!”

With that, Piccolo casually wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, and his mind cleared instantly. A faint smile appeared at the corner of his mouth as he flew off in the direction of the Lookout.
